Section 2: Select Fee-Blocks

Simply select the fee-block(s), sub-class(es) and industry-block(s) that your firm falls into. The fee-blocks, sub-classes and industry-blocks are determined by the activities you are regulated to undertake in the UK under your permission. Clicking on a fee-block, sub-class or industry-block number, or on the help icons, will give you detailed information about the activities for that particular fee-block, sub-class or industry-block. This will help you decide if this is the correct choice.

FSA Fee-Blocks

The FSA funding arrangements are based on the principle that its fees will be determined by three main factors: the category (or categories) of business that a fee-payer carries out; the size of the fee-payer's business within that category; and the costs the we incur in regulating that category. To achieve this we group together fee-payers that offer broadly similar financial products and services into fee-blocks.

FSCS Sub-classes

Following the FSCS Funding Review, from 2008/09 the FSCS uses sub-classes to define different sectors of the financial services industry. Simply select the sub-class(es) that relate to your firm. If you're not sure, click on the sub-class number, or help icon, for further information relating to that sub-class.

FOS Industry Blocks

The FOS uses industry blocks to define different sectors of the financial services industry. From the selections you've made above the possible FOS industry blocks are now shown. Section 4: Input Tariff Data

All tariff data should be rounded to the nearest whole number, except for the scenarios in years 2008/09 and 2009/10 when tariff data for FSCS sub-classes SC02 and SD02 should be to 1 decimal point and the scenarios from 2012/13 when FSA A010 tariff data can be to 1 decimal point. Do not leave any tariff data boxes blank – if your tariff data is zero then enter the number 0. Do not enter negative tariff data. Again, if you are not sure what tariff data you should be entering, click the tariff base or help icon and assistance is at hand.
